I Found 8 Ways to Make Money as a Writer
Here are the ways that you can do it
Today I will tell you about my journey to becoming a Writer. I think my previous stories about making money still hold some allure for the readers.
But today is different…
I will show you ways to achieve the same.
The first thing is that I discovered my talent for writing, and my work was shared. At this moment, my body released a type of Dopamine that made me feel joyful.
This mechanism became even more potent as more people became aware of my shares.
Well,
That means whenever I achieve something, my body gets very excited.
So how does this relate to the story I’m about to tell below?
It does.
Finding the right Dopamine will give you more motivation to act.
More importantly, writing can help me make money.
And I’m here to show you how!
Below are 8 ways to help you focus on writing:
1. Write an article, column, or newsletter
I haven’t earned money from writing for others yet, but I have made an income from writing for myself.
I list this here so you can refer to it.
Based on my research and experience, I could also write for magazines, websites, or companies.
They need customer attention, and I have experience in writing and selling on Etsy. I’m fully capable of earning from writing, how about you?
So where to approach them?
I think you can reach them on Facebook, Twitter.
But first, demonstrate your writing talent.
There’s a keyword that I think is a secret weapon.
Write based on personal emotions.
Storytelling is a secret weapon, it easily goes viral
We already have 2 keywords to start with, let’s go through the other methods I’ve listed below.
2. Write sales content for your sales page
I bet you can make money right away with this method, which is to write your advertisements on websites like Upwork or Fiverr.
Why can you make money right away with this method?
That’s because there are lots of people out there who need your help to sell their products and services online.
You have the skills for writing advertisements, and that’s your opportunity to make money.
The downside of this method is that making money quickly can also mean losing it quickly.
You won’t have long-term residual value; that is, you can only serve one client at a time.
However, as you get more reviews, you will get more work.
Doesn’t it sound worth trying?
3. Journalism writing
You can connect with magazines to write articles for them and contribute materials.
Additionally, you can also connect with other online news sources.
The job is simple, just stay at home and write sharing articles.
There is one thing you should always remember: you always have to be the one to give first.
Value comes first, assets will follow
4. Monetize your newsletter
Here is something I haven’t had time to implement yet, but it’s entirely feasible.
I have witnessed other writers earning $20,000 a year through the Substack platform.
And here is their plan:
- Share information about a field for free on Substack.
- Then, they share that information within online communities related to the same field.
- After some time of sharing, the author activates the paid feature on Substack. Readers will have to pay a fee to access advanced materials, extended resources, or read archived newsletters.
Impressive value, isn’t it?
You should start with this idea right now.
Let me show you a way: you can rewrite an article on Medium and then publish it on Substack.
How do you determine which articles are high quality?
The solution I often use is MediumStats
I found the article that many people are interested in within the past 21 days and the past 7 days.
You know, with this method, I can find an unlimited source of ideas to start writing.
5. Monetize your social media presence
I am also building an audience around my social media posts, but this way takes more time.
It requires you to have experience in the field you are sharing about. What I share on social media will be free, followed by paid content.
The service I am aiming for.
If possible, you should build a team that can support each other. I focus on audience development, while my teammates concentrate on developing the services to provide them.
You can take a look at the projects we are working on:
6. Organize seminars and provide training services
Having experience in a particular field, like my current experience with Etsy, allows me to provide valuable coaching services as well.
The plan is to share a lot of free content first, then I can organize live meetings with a participation fee of $25 per slot.
When I have 100 participants, that number will not be small at all.
I have previously shared that I earned $125 through coaching.
Of course, that’s the plan, and you can certainly earn even more if you put in the effort.
7. Upload the article to paid platforms.
Writing on websites like Medium, Newsbreak, and Simily (for fiction) pays you based on the views your articles generate.
Here’s how I think I’m focusing the most…
It really works, you know.
Although the initial traffic when you write the article will be very low.
But once the article goes viral, you will reach a lot of people.
I will show you in other articles, but in this article, I can only list what is within the scope of what is being discussed.
According to MediumStats, quality articles receive an extremely high number of Claps.
I can easily reach Tags with a rapidly growing number of followers each day.
I just need to select the Tags with the highest number of followers in the niche I’m selling in.
You can see a lot of people earning money on Medium. With each quality post, they can earn a few hundred dollars per month. The initial stage seems difficult.
But when your article goes viral, it truly is worth it.
The rewards come from perseverance
8. Write an online course (in written form)
This is also another approach; I am also selling products through my newsletter.
In theory, you might have already seen its content on the Internet, but it is reorganized more logically and, importantly, shared through the author’s own experiences.
What I do is turn those stories into books, PDFs, or documents that readers can download.
I also want to hear from those of you who have been successful in getting paid for writing.
Please share those stories below.
We all need inspiration from success stories.
Let’s go!
