How To Get Traffic From Pinterest In 2025?
Actually, I have already shared it through a video. But there are still people asking, so I wrote a blog for you to read. My method is very simple and anyone can do it.
What sets me apart from others is that I do it regularly every day, every month. I maintain it consistently.
But first, to be able to do that, you need to have a method to start with, right?
I will try my best to convey as much detail as possible.
Create a Pinterest account and optimize SEO
Step 1: Create an account. (The default created is a personal account)
Step 2: Optimize the account. Actually, I don’t optimize too much.
I haven’t even updated the cover photo.
I only verified each website and added a little description to my profile (the profile doesn’t even relate to the keto niche I’m working on) and upgraded to a business version instead of keeping a personal account.
Upgrading your account to a business type will provide you with statistics charts to view the growth of your account. However, the default personal Pinterest account does not have charts to view.
To upgrade, you go to Account management to upgrade. Just a few simple steps and your account will be upgraded immediately and completely free of charge.
Completed the optimization part.
Find Pinterest account content.
For content searching, I use the Sortpin.com tool (paid version) to find the posts with the most pins, then I take them back to repin. Actually, using the free version of Sortpin is sufficient.
However, I want to save time with the export feature to Excel (so I use the paid version at $29/year).
When downloading the Excel file to my computer, I will rearrange the pins with the best interactions in the keto niche that I am working in (since the niche I am competing in has a lot of competition, I will look for pins with over 10k saves).
After filtering out the quality pins, I will pin the same good pins on my account. The only difference is that I will change the destination link to my direct link.
You can use any link shortening service. I use my own website for link shortening as well. My website is a WordPress site that uses the Pretty Links plugin (paid version) to shorten links and track traffic through those shortened links.
Then I will repost it on the same side as on Pinterest (title, image, description). The only difference is that the original link will be my shortened link, and the board will also be mine. I won’t mention the way to post the article.
Of course, that shortened link will still point to the original website link of that article.
You might have a question by now. So where does the traffic come from?
Most of you who are new to Pinterest would not dare to sacrifice time like that, right? (Spending time reposting someone else’s original article while the website link still promotes their product website).
I’m pretty sure 90% of you won’t have the patience and will directly point to your money site or your services, hoping for immediate conversions. This won’t help you at all; it won’t generate conversions and might even get your account banned.
Then the problem here is mastering emotions.
Just saying, sometimes I also feel lazy and want to give up. But the case study I started back in June until now is at the end of September (over 3 months).
So I tested on 3 accounts.
My old account has grown very well (x3 display traffic).
New accounts increase display traffic by 6x (but it’s not stable; looking at it from a long-term perspective, there is growth).
The remaining account has only just started for 1 month, so there hasn’t been much significant change yet..
The behavior of using Pinterest according to Pinterest’s algorithm is very important.
I know many main accounts interact well. Meanwhile, sub-accounts do not interact well. The main reason is due to your account usage behavior, which is lacking.
For example:
- Search history.
- Not updating the profile (at least if not SEO-friendly, it should verify the website and have a profile description).
- Email account not verified (By default, the account can be used immediately without verifying the email, even though there is an email in the inbox requesting verification).
- In fact, the number of boards you participate in is zero. My account participates in many boards.
- History of pin views.
These very actions will cause Pinterest to see you as a robot and will take you down when they see an explosion in your number of pins without any activity that is beneficial to them.
Then when to leverage Pinterest traffic and how to leverage it?
Actually, I could start exploiting it right away. But there won’t be any conversion yet. In my personal experience with my keto niche, it takes at least 3k traffic/day to generate about $30–50/day (through affiliate marketing links from ClickBank or Google AdSense).
So why do I currently have nearly 4k, but still haven’t tapped into Pinterest traffic? It’s because to achieve 3k traffic/day, I need at least over 15k traffic/day (for my keto niche) to avoid getting my account banned or reducing the quality of my account, which could lead to an account suspension.
In the past, I also over-exploited and promoted unrelated products and services, which led to my account’s engagement dropping. Now I’ve learned from that experience.
How to use Pinterest traffic when you already have a lot of traffic to your shortened link?
When it’s time to utilize, you just need to create a WordPress blog. Write posts related to that pin and ensure they are of higher quality than the author’s (images, videos, formulas, solutions, methods, products, etc.).
Then simply edit your shortened link to redirect to the article on your blog or to your product.
That’s why I mentioned that whether or not you succeed in selling with a WordPress website for POD T-shirt sales, you still gain indirect experience for developing other types of websites, such as affiliate blogs.
How to research products needed to generate income on your website?
Most of the websites linked from Pinterest are news and knowledge-based blogs. Try opening around 20 websites in your niche and observe how they develop their blogs. I assure you it’s incredibly easy once you’re familiar with WordPress blogs.
Next, take a look at the articles they link to and see how they introduce their products. Are they utilizing Google AdSense, affiliate marketing, or selling their own products, etc.?
Earning money through display ads on a website.
Make money by collecting emails and creating sales funnels
Make money through Amazon affiliate marketing
Make money by charging membership fees
Make money through your own self-developed product category.
There will be many interesting things behind it.
Hope this article is helpful to you.
